O dia de hoje começa no feminino com Lisa Heller, com uma belíssima voz que nos mostra através do tema “Figure it Out”. Para além da bela composição ao piano, a atmosfera criada gerou em mim uma grande empatia. A letra é muito especial à sua maneira. Sendo eu agora uma “new girl” num continente novo, reconheço bem a sensação do que é precisar de tempo para se perceber como sermos nós mesmos e conquistarmos o nosso espaço num meio que nos é desconhecido. E é esta a motivação do tema, segundo nos conta a artista:
“Figure It Out” was based on my experience in moving to LA as a new girl in a big city, trying to navigate it and navigate who I am. I wanted to be able to be myself, writing songs from my piano, but instead I was working with this music manager who’s focus was on churning out as many EDM pop songs I possibly could. I was expected to wear a ton of makeup, trendy clothes, and get my hair overly done. It didn’t feel like me. It was far from the raw authentic passion I put into songs that has gotten me through hard times. So this summer, I decided I wanted to try music on my own. I wanted to go back to that feeling I got when I finished writing a song on piano. So that’s what I did with this EP. I touched on that experience in the song “Figure It Out”
